The Farm-house Colognole offers, in the lush and relaxing environment of vineyards and woods of Chianti Rufina, rooms in B & B service, apartments and houses for relaxing stays in contact with nature. Available to the guests are swimming pools, gardens with barbeque and the excellent restaurant "Il Colognolo" where to taste dishes from local traditions, excellent wines and sublime olive oils produced by the Colognole Wineyards. All of the buildings on the estate boast panoramic views of the Valdisieve, and our guests may enjoy our English-speaking hospitality staff. Guests staying at our agriturismo can reach all of Tuscany’s important cities within an hour or two. The town of Rufina, just a few kilometres away, offers frequent trains to the city centre of Florence, just 30 minutes away. Colognole’s nearness to the Apennine mountain chain makes its landscape quite rugged and wild, but its location also means that the summer heat is more bearable here, thanks to the light breezes that flow down from the mountain heights. Colognole lies in the hills that rise on the left bank of the river Sieve, some 30 km east of Florence. The estate has been in the Conti Spalletti family since the end of the 1800s, and right from the earliest years the family focused its efforts on viticulture. The winery, lying in the heart of the Chianti Rufina DOCG, has always concentrated on producing wines of true greatness, which now, as in the past, are exported to all of the major countries of the world. A later project of the winery, carried out in the late 1970s, was the re-structuring of the case coloniche, or farm residences, on the estate; this initiative was the fore-runner, by some ten years, of the agriturismo movement that has seen the involvement of so many Tuscan wineries.
